Job Description: Position Title: VistA DeveloperLocation: Remote/Nation Wide Status Required: US Citizen The VistA Developer will conduct analysis and document functional, business, and technical requirements for enhancements to complex VistA clinical information systems. Candidate must be proficient in the MUMPS programming language and as well as with the with Caché database software product. The Candidate must also be proficient with the VA FileMan database management system and the VA VistA health information system. Candidate must also be proficient in MS office products such as Visio, Word, and Excel. Candidate must have the ability to model business processes and document functional requirements from business requirements and under technical constraints. Knowledge of overall VA VistA functionality and underlying technical building blocks of VistA such as FileMan, RPC Broker, ScreenMan, MenuMan, Security Keys, and FileMan templates required. Java Programming experience is a plus. Agile programming experiences and Test Driven Development experience is also a plus. Familiarity with the Git software CM tool and the Jenkins Continuous Integration software tool is also desirable. The job position will require direct, hands on experience with analysis of and documentation of technical and functional requirements for enhancement of VA VistA software. All candidates must possess or have the ability to: -Meet deadlines and project goals -Prioritize responsibilities and work independently -Proven ability to develop and document Business/Functional Requirements -Ability to work in large integrated teams working across business and technology departments and bridging the gap between business and technology -Ability to produce requirements documentation using Standard MS Office Tools. -Ability to work effectively as a member of a large integrated virtual team -Develop and document technical solutions from business requirements -Work across departments within the VA organization to clarify requirements and meet stakeholder needs -Adhere to VA Software Development Lifecycle requirements and processes -Evaluate and understand VA Vista Architecture and develop technical solutions in legacy MUMPS and FileMan Education: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience. Experience: -8-10 years of experience in a healthcare setting analyzing, developing, and documenting functional and software requirements -3 years of experience working with VA in software development -Experience with FileMan -Experience in interface analysis of ICD-9 and knowledge of ICD-10 codes is a plus -Ability to Obtain a Public Trust Clearance
