Description:
Position Title: Desktop Support Technician Position Location: Winchester, VA Status: US Citizen Clearance Requirement: Top- Secret (SSBI)
-Install desktops, portable microcomputers, peripherals, and software products for networked, classified and unclassified, and standalone environments. -Detect, diagnose, and resolve desktop and portable microcomputer software and hardware failures. -Provide information, guidance, and instruction on use of desktop and portable microcomputer hardware and software. -Analyze and assess customers' service request and provide prompt technical solutions. -Conduct IT audits in compliance with policies governing the administration, utilization, and acquisition of desktop and portable microcomputer products. -Prepare progress/status reports team leads. -Utilize trouble ticketing software for opening/closing tickets in a timely and appropriate manner. -Identify and document areas for process improvements. -Contact and effectively communicate with users by telephone, electronic communications, or in person. -Prepare equipment for reuse or surplus of property actions. -Provide technical support for customers assigned to remote locations. -Perform software and hardware upgrades and installations involving multiple microcomputers configured for desktop, portable, and server operations. -Coordinate the disassembly and reinstallation of automation equipment in support of office relocations. -Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Associates Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
1-3 years of directly related experience supporting desktops and computer peripherals.
