Job Description: Position Title: Software TesterLocation: San Mateo, CA Status: Green Card Clearance: Ability to obtain Public Trust Successful candidate must be able to obtain and retain a Public Trust security clearance. Candidates must be authorized to work in the US and a resident of the US for the previous 5 years with no longer than a 90 day absence. The Software Tester is responsible for planning and executing SIT across major and minor releases. They will test scripts to validate application functionality meets the agreed upon requirements. The candidate will apply knowledge of technologies, applications, methodologies, processes and tools to support the project. Key Responsibilities: -Design and write test cases and scripts. Execute and coordinate monitoring of performance tests. -Determine automation feasibility versus manual scripting. -Develop, update and maintain quality testing standards and procedures. -Assist in the planning, creation and control of the test environment(s). -Work with application development teams and business users to develop and validate test requirements. -Capable of working with the customer and developers to identify the test scenarios based upon the User Requirement and Technical Requirement documents. -Determine and meet time estimates and schedules for testing efforts -Capable of creating reusable test cases and test scenarios. Bachelors Degree in a Computer Science or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience. -5+ years of directly related computer systems analysis and/or programming experience -Familiarity with different types of testing (system integration, regression, functional, etc.) and an ability to plan/execute accordingly -Ability to develop test conditions and expected results based on the application requirements -Strong written and verbal communication (ability to translate between business and technical concepts) -Experience with Software Development Lifecycle experience (Waterfall or Agile, but prefer Agile) -Ability to be flexible and work analytically in a problem-solving environment -Proven ability to work independently and as a team member -Coordinate the creation Technical Requirement Documents (TRD) -Creation Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) -Maintain Requirement Traceability Metric (RTM) -Create Test plans and scripts -Experience Testing Java/Websphere/Oracle based applications -Knowledge of Unix Operating System and Utilities -Maintain Defect Reports and coordinate resolution with software developers
