Description:
Secret Clearance SSBI Required Must obtain CompTIA Security+ CE certification prior to starting Ability to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as assigned
Works with customers analyzing, troubleshooting and isolating complex network hardware and software problems using Windows, Solaris 8, 9,10 and UNIX operating systems in support of the Army Enterprise Protected Domain Name System (EP-DNS). When required the applicant will also perform Architectural troubleshooting of the Army EP-DNS Enterprise System and other technical issues in support of the DNS mission. Provide recommendations and solutions to customers for rapid restoration of services. Understand the Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and the IP address scheme. Understand Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol. Use strong written and oral communication skills on a daily basis. Monitor the health of information systems and apply corrective action as required. Modify hardware and software configurations as mission and resource allocation requirements dictate. Perform DNS server maintenance, backs up oracle, Solaris and java upgrades on all DNS Servers as needed. Updates and processes all network, domain, user and ASN templates at the NIC. In addition to these duties, process and review all documents for SIPRNET dial up access.
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.
Contract Requirement:
12 years of experience in the IT field, or 10 years plus Associates, or 8 years plus a BS/BA.
5-8 years of related systems engineering experience.

Technical Skills (must have):
• Proficient with TCP/IP network protocol concepts • Knowledge of Linux/UNIX family operating systems • knowledge of networking concepts across the LAN/WAN
Technical Skills (Preferred):
• Knowledge of Windows desktop and server operating systems • Hands-on experience supporting multi-platform OS environment • Perl Scripting knowledge • Vital QIP and/or INFOBLOX knowledge
Must obtain CompTIA Security+ CE certification prior to starting. Must be able to obtain and maintain Secret/SSBI-level security clearance. Must complete DNSSEC training workshop (FedVTE) or Introduction to IPv6 training (FedVTE) as assigned.

• Must be able to work both independently and as a member of a team to set priorities and organize work to meet deadlines • Communicate effectively in both oral and written forms with customers and office staff • Ability to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as assigned by applicant's supervisor • Other duties as assigned
