Looking for a Senior Network Engineer, self-motivated, innovative, with past technical hands-on experience in IT systems engineering, who will be part of an Engineering that is supporting SDLC engineering and modernization efforts for a large enterprise, multi-tenant environment covering various technologies and initiatives including VDI, Wireless, Network, Computer, Systems, Software, and more. The role of Senior Network Engineer will be focused on designing and implementing network changes: routing and switching, in test or production environment, with a focus on improvement in the service delivery to the end customer, and will also provide technical expertise to less senior engineers supporting projects in these areas, may support special projects or ASI's (Authorized Service Interruptions) or other cross functional engineering requirements.
Experience: Must have seven or more years' directly related experience in networking from an engineering projects perspective (this position is not for network support technicians or system admins, this is not for Tier 2/3 engineering, this is for engineering design from an engineering perspective, not operations and maintenance - O&M need not apply). Also requires knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in all the various phases of the engineering, application, and development of multiple operating systems; knowledge of or certification in specific applications or processes may be required, depending on job assignment. Certifications in networking are highly desired, especially CCNP, CCIE or like and kind Juniper certs.

Must have excellent communication skills (oral and writing). May interact with the gov't customer and senior government leadership leaders at the highest levels, prefer those who have experience and skills in this area.

Responsible for the design and development of voice, video, radio-frequency, and/or data communications networks.

1.Analyzes voice, video, radio-frequency, and/or data communications networks, including planning, designing, evaluating, selecting, and upgrading operating systems and protocol suites and configuring communication media with concentrators, bridges, and other devices.
2.Plans network layouts and configures systems to user environments.
3.Analyzes network topologies and traffic and capacity requirements.
4.Supports the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed.
5.May provide technical support and troubleshooting to users.
6.May perform network administration duties.
7.Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced network personnel and may have supervisory responsibilities.
8.May serve as technical team or task leader.
9.Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
10.Participates in special projects as required.

Education:
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
B.A. or B.S. degree required. Masters, especially in Science, Computers, Engineering, is highly desired.

Experience:
8-10 years of directly related experience in network analysis and design.

Unique requirements: experience in Pentagon/DoD environment preferred, experience with OSD WHS or Pentagon customer also highly desired. Secret clearance required. Must be 8570 Compliant on day 1 (Security+ CE, CISSP or like certification meeting security minimum requirement).
