Job Description: Position Title: Functional AnalystLocation: Towson, MD Status: Green Card Clearance: None Analyzes user needs and performs research and functional analysis on a variety of projects. This position is typically populated by degreed professional subject-matter experts performing specialized analysis and design tasks. It is not to be used for technical support or help desk staff performing installation, troubleshooting, and/or repair tasks. 1.Analyzes user needs to determine functional requirements for a wide variety of projects. 2.Performs functional allocations to identify tasks and their inter-relationships. 3.Researches, identifies, and recommends resources required for task execution and completion. 4.Performs functional modeling based on requirements analysis. 5.Serves as technical advisor to clients in assigned subject areas, recommends functional changes, and identifies areas for further investigation. 6.Consults with clients to determine optimum design for assigned projects. 7.Develops new systems or updates existing systems to meet client needs. 8.Identifies emerging relevant technologies that may result in improvements to current processes and systems. 9.Writes and updates project documentation including system procedures, presentations, and training materials. 10.Conducts functional testing of various systems. 11.May provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced analysts. 12.Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies and subject areas. 13.Participates in special projects as required. Education: Bachelors Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work experience. Experience: 5-8 years of related experience. Skills: -Strong written and verbal communication (ability to translate between business and technical concepts) -Experience with requirements and test case management tools such as DOORS and/or HP Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) -Working knowledge of ASC X12 EDI transaction standards -Experience writing SQL queries -Ability to be flexible and work analytically in a problem-solving environment -Proven ability to work independently and as a team member
