Description

Our client is seeking enterprise level VMWare support in the execution, testing, documentation and deployment of solutions focused on the virtualization of electronic classroom desktops and associated training and support appliations for the Department of Defense.
Systems Cyber Defense Administrator in the VDI Services Support Workgroup within Training Support Center - San Diego's Data Operations Center and remote sites of the virtualization envoronment.
Principle duties include virtual server and desktop infrastructure (using VMWare) configuration, administration and sustainment. Server Baseline Development and Sustainment support to include implementing and validating applicable STIGs controls; Cyber Incident Response (execution); Server installation, configuration & sustainment; Server applications installation, configuration and sustainment. Active directory administration to include creating and managing Group Policy Objects, Security Groups and User/Computer objects. Develop Stanard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and map task execution processes.

If selected, you will...

-Analyze, log, track and resolve software/hardware matters of significance pertaining to networking connectivity issues, printer, servers, and applications to meet business needs.
-Perform troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common system problems; document system events to ensure continuous functioning. Recommend course of action and implements as approved.
-Upgrade system software and hardware components as required to meet business needs; coordinates backups. Ensure upgrades are occurring in accordance with established parameters.
-Coordinate the installation of client department specific applications and systems. Determine appropriate method for installing applications and systems; resolve matters of significance and implement corrective course of action as needed.
-Install, test, upgrade and configure system files and services to enhance performance.
-Utilize standard corporate tools to record change and problem activities for tracking purposes.

Contract requires 3 years minimum as a domain-level administrator within a DoD network of over 500 nodes and within the last four years. Two years minimun as a VSphere Administrator within a DoD network of over 500 nodes and within the last three years. Certified or possess formal course completion certificates in the followign: MCTS: Windows 7 Configuration (70-680), MCITP-SA: Windows 2008, VMWare View, VMWare VSphere v5.0 (VCP5-DCV0 or better.

Preferred candidate will have
- Experience with SQL 2008/2012, ThinApp, EMC Storage Solutions, Cisco switches, Ghost, Powershell and SCAP protocols/languages.

Required certifications
Security + CE acquired within the last three years is required to start work. The candidate also must possess an active secret clearance

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science, or related field preferred
Four or more years of experience with computer systems or networking
Experience working with computer hardware for installation and upgrades
Experience working with software installation/upgrading procedures
Experience working with file and system maintenance procedures

Good analytical and problem solving skills to troubleshoot systems problems
Good communication skills to communicate with support personnel, customers, and managers
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
