Job Description: Disaster Recovery SMEOur client is looking for a Senior Consultant with experience in Business Continuity (BC) and Disaster Recovery (DR), including conducting business impact analyses (BIA) and risk assessments (RA), developing continuity and recovery plans, implementing technical solutions, and conducting tests and exercises. The resource should have a background in both Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery helping develop BC and DR programs for clients to ensure that the client can effectively respond to a disaster so that the critical business functions can be resumed within a defined time frame, the amount of loss can be minimized, and any impacted facilities can be repaired or replaced as quickly as possible. This position includes assisting the client with the design, development, maintenance, and testing of the plans for each critical functional area of the client’s organization. The Senior Consultant should be able to develop and provide innovative solutions for our clients. Our Consultants work as part of a consulting team forming close relationships with key client Business and IT stakeholders. Consultants are expected to play a significant role in client engagements, along with maintaining additional internal (non-client) responsibilities. The Consultant will be expected to perform the following tasks: o Perform Business Impact Analyses o Conduct Risk Assessments o Develop Continuity and Recovery Strategies o Analyze, evaluate and recommend technical solutions for clients o Architect, design, engineer, and implement technical DR strategy and solutions o Develop policies, standards, procedures and processes o Develop Business Continuity plans o Develop Disaster Recovery plans and work instructions to recovery business critical applications and systems o Develop, coordinate, and conduct testing and exercising, including plan walk-throughs, table top exercises, technical tests and functional drills o Develop and conduct training o Coordinate plan review and approval process Skills o Thorough knowledge and understanding of current business continuity and disaster recovery planning techniques and technologies o Strong practical knowledge of technology and its application in business o Thorough knowledge of current BC planning methodologies o Thorough knowledge of data management in order to assist in the preparation of recovery procedures in this area o Experience in architecting DR solutions o Experience in designing, developing, maintaining, and exercising/testing of plans o Working knowledge of DR tools and technologies o Experience in virtualization, cloud computing, managed hosting, and DR outsourcing with alternate site vendors o Problem solving and analytical skills o Excellent written and oral presentation and communication skills o Ability to proactively manage multiple commitments and tasks o Experience building effective relationships with clients and colleagues o Strong practical knowledge of technology and its application in business o Understanding of security & infrastructure standards and regulations (e.g. ITIL, FISMA, PCI, ISO, HIPAA, etc.) o Experience leading technology assessments and implementations using proven methodologies o Exercise and meeting facilitation experience o Excellent organizational and time management skills o Experience working as part of project teams in a consulting or strong customer-oriented environment o Experience in project management methodology such as PMBOK (PMI) desirable o Experience with DRII Certified Business Continuity Planner (CBCP) desirable o Ability to travel, when applicable Work Experience Our client is seeking individuals with professional experience in business continuity and disaster recovery. Previous consulting experience is a plus. Education Bachelor’s Degree, Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Management, Management Information Systems, or a related field; or the equivalent in education and work experience.
