Job Description:

Case Coordinator

o Responsible for the final recommendation to the FFS for the unaccompanied alien children
o Leads case reviews with facility staff on a weekly basis. Provides leadership in setting case direction; providing critical feedback on actions to be taken/follow-up
o Interviews children to ascertain needs and issues discussed during case reviews to further assist in determining appropriate placement
o Tracks each new placement and progress. If inadequate progress is uncovered; actions are recommended to program staff and/or Federal staff; as appropriate; to mitigate
o Assures facility staff have adequately assessed the needs of the children
o Provides third-party child welfare assessment of children's cases through recommendation
o Recommends suitability assessments and follow-up services
o Holds weekly meetings with the FFS to discuss difficult cases
o Assists facility staff in identifying placement for children with mental health needs.
o Assists the FFS in providing training/technical assistance
o Assists care providers in referring trafficking cases to ORR
o Participates in area stakeholder meetings
o Refers to ORR any release reconsideration or case file requests received by the minors' attorneys
o Refers attorney's ICE or other stakeholder inquiries that require Government attention to the ORR designee
o Keeps records on the status of children's cases; including those awaiting travel arrangements
o Alerts ORR HQ staff to disputed age determinations
o Prepares written reports regarding progress and issues related to program trends
o Assists in identifying placement for children who turn 18

Education / Experience
o If MSW or equivalent educational background; at least two years of demonstrated child welfare; case management; social service; and/or mental health professional experience
o If BSW or equivalent educational background; at least five years of demonstrated child welfare; social service; case management; and/or mental health professional experience
o Experience working with immigrant; refugee; and underserved populations is preferred
o Verbal bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish

There will be a FP background check required, successful clearance is required for continued placement on project.
