Job Description: Position Title:VB.Net/Java ProgrammerLocation: Towson, MD Status: Green Card or US Citizen Clearance: None The successful candidate will be a proactive customer-focused advocate, a team player with substantial software engineering experience, preferably with some experience within the Health Care industry. Including the following attributes: An Application Developer will be responsible for: -Developing and maintaining .Net and JavaEE applications. -Develop software components to support data enrichment and transformation in a high traffic transactional data and data warehouse environment. -Provide development estimates outlining business and technical risks. -Develop and deploy systems in an iterative, incremental process that fully incorporates testing. -Provide technical and business explanation and justification for design and coding approaches. -Provide thorough, automated unit test harnesses for developed solutions. -Regularly update technical and business teams as to plans, progress, and issues. -Produce high quality software following best practices. Experience: -3 to 5 Years of full life cycle development with an emphasis on incremental, iterative development and deployment using Agile Scrum methodology -Development must consist of deployed, large distributed systems across multiple platforms -Hard-core development experience with proven ability to release applications on-time -Able to program and debug in complex multi-threaded environments -Experience working with large scale datasets (multiple terabytes) -A reverence for clean, simple, elegant coding ability -Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new technologies quickly -Comfortable in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment -Strong written and verbal skills from both business and technical perspectives -Builds and codes applications and/or models using various computer programming languages -Generates new code and corrects, converts, and/or modifies existing code to meet specifications -Prepares detailed specifications from which code will be written -Confers with end-users to analyze specified methods and procedures, identify problems, and document specific requirements -Writes and updates technical documentation such as users' manuals, product specifications, and training materials -Performs a variety of testing procedures on assigned products, analyzes test results, and corrects problems -Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned -Participates in special projects as required Education: -Bachelors Degree in a Computer Science or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience. Qualifications: -3 to 5 years of development experience in VB.Net, IIS -5 years of development experience on SQL databases (SQL Server or Oracle) -1 to 2 years of development experience in Java 7 or 8, J2EE/JEE development, Spring 3 or 4, Eclipse IDE, WildFly Application Server -3 years of web development experience -3 years of object oriented design and development -1 to 3 years of Unix shell programming -Proficiency in written/verbal communication -Previous experience in Scrum methodology is desirable -Previous Healthcare IT experience is desirable -Experience with Angular is desirable
