Job Description: Position Title:Sr. Java DeveloperLocation: Wilkes Barre, PA Status: Green Card Clearance: Public Trust Successful candidate must be authorized to work in the US. USPS Security Clearance requires the selected candidate to have resided in the US for the past five years and not have left the country for longer than 90 consecutive days. Responsibilities include: Working with other programmers, specialists, DBAs, and Business Systems Analysts on assigned software projects. Working within a development and support team to enhance or modify web applications. Preparing and recommending plans to improve software performance. Troubleshooting system and component problems. Supporting generally-defined system changes. Providing production support per USPS defined SLAs. ÔBachelors Degree in a Computer Science or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience. Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years' experience is preferred, but 8 years technical experience in lieu of degree will be considered Ô5-8 years of directly related computer programming experience. 5 years' experience in the following: • Java • Java Applets • Java Scripts • CSS/CSS3 • HTML/HTML5 • SQL/Oracle SQL • Struts/Servlets/Web Containers • Responsive CSS techniques/design • Cross Browser Support • J2EE • EJB/EJB3 • JPA/JPA2 • REST/JAX-RS • JQuery/JSON Preferred skills: • Good team working skills • Good verbal communication • Web User Interface Design • Software Debugging • Familiar with Unix/vi commands • Agile management practices • 2 years' Relational Database (Oracle preferred) Ô
